Coronavirus COVID-19
The National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) coordinates the fight against coronavirus. The RIVM collaborates with experts and representatives of various organisations (including epidemiology), who together form the Outbreak Management Team (OMT). The Netherlands Epidemiology Society (VvE) supports the advice that the OMT issues to the government and underlines the importance of following all measures that apply in the Netherlands. WEON 2020 will be moved to 2021
Due to the current situation regarding the coronavirus, the WEON organisation has decided to postpone the WEON 2020 in Amsterdam to 2021. Participants who have already registered and paid will receive a refund of the participation costs. The WEON will take place on: 3 and 4 June 2021 in Amsterdam. Abstracts can be submitted again in early 2021.

Passion for epidemiology
The Netherlands Epidemiology Society (VvE) was founded in 1986 by epidemiologists from the very beginning. The field of Epidemiology got bigger and more diverse over the years. The number of epidemiologists in the Netherlands has also grown. We consider the quality of research and education to be of great importance.
