VvE Oral Presentation Prize 2021

The Board of the Netherlands Society of Epidemiology is pleased to award the 2021 Society Oral Presentation Award to:

Laure Wynants

With the abstract:“Prediction research in a Pandemic: results of the COVID PRECISE living systematic review of diagnostic and prognostic models“.

The jury, consisting of dr. Mariska Leeflang of the Amsterdam UMC, dr. Femmie de Vegt of Radboud UMC Nijmegen and prof. dr. Truuske de Bock of UMC Groningen, decided after extensive discussion to award the VvE Oral Presentation Prize to the presentation that combined urgency, methodology and clear presentation. Laure shows how research got out of hand during the covid-19 pandemic and she advocates for better methodology and responsible research in diagnostic and prognostic model development.

The VvE Oral Presentation Prize 2021 was awarded on June 4, 2021 during the annual epidemiological congress the WEON, organized by the Amsterdam UMC.
