Consortium of Cooperating Burn Centres in the Netherlands
The consortium consists of the burns centres of Maasstad Hospital in Rotterdam, the Red Cross Hospital in Beverwijk and the Martini Hospital in Groningen. Together we are responsible for the care and treatment of patients with severe burns in the Netherlands. Thanks to our intensive cooperation, we provide top clinical care, conduct leading scientific research and offer high-quality education at national and international level.

For the new project: ‘Effective customized burn care’ we are immediately looking for:

  • a data steward (0.8-1.0 fte)

The project:
ZonMW has granted the consortium of the Cooperating Burn Centres in the Netherlands recognition as ‘top specialist care’ and we have received a grant from the ZonMw programme Top Specialist Care and Research (TZO). Within our consortium, we, physicians, nurses, paramedics, patients, educators and researchers, work together in a multidisciplinary manner to achieve healthcare improvement. In the next four years, we want to realize effective customized care for burn wound patients by better connecting knowledge from the practice of care (learning from our patients), scientific research, innovation, education and evaluation. Who are we looking for?

Data steward (vacancy TZO 2)

As a data steward, you are responsible for setting up the value-driven care framework. You will be supported by an external data consultant (Dr. S. van der Zwaard). You will be responsible for linking our clinical and patient-reported outcomes databases in collaboration with a trusted third party and will be responsible for the availability of data for analysis and interpretation. You also ensure that all research data is FAIR (findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable). You will ensure the development and validation of the standardized data analyses and develop, together with physicians, nurses, researchers and patients, a dashboard for the data visualization of relevant outcomes.

We ask of you
You are an enthusiastic, ambitious data steward, preferably with scientific experience. You have a good command of SQL. You know your way around various applications/programs and learn easily. You are a genius in data management and analysis. You have basic knowledge of data technology (linking databases and setting up data processing). You have experience with data analysis (dashboarding and data visualization). Ideally you will have experience in the field of research data management (FAIR data principle, AVG) . Command of SQL and R is desired, knowledge of dashboarding tools such as PowerBI is a plus. In your role you will collaborate with Consortium members, data experts from the hospitals and from the trusted third party. You will be using existing and new databases.

You would like to use your knowledge and experience to further improve the quality of burn care in the Netherlands. You think and act strategically, but are also comfortable with practical clinical issues. You work accurately, can collaborate well, and want to support your future colleagues through availability of datasets and development of a user-friendly dashboard of relevant outcome measures.

Place of work and surroundings
Your place of work (basic workplace) is at the Rode Kruis Ziekenhuis in Beverwijk, but you will also be working occasionally at the Maasstad hospital (Rotterdam) and the Martini hospital (Groningen). You will be part of an enthusiastic and dynamic care and research team, both in the burn centres and in the consortium. You will work closely with the doctors, nurses, paramedics, patients, trainers, department heads, other researchers, and supporting departments such as ICT or external partners.

What we offer/Agreement
We offer a contract for 1 year (0.8 -1.0 FTE), with the intention of extending it to a maximum of 4 years. Salary grading is in accordance with the CAO for hospitals in FWG 60-65, depending on education and experience (maximum €4.595 per month for a full-time appointment). In addition, we offer you the opportunity to further develop yourself through various courses.
