Is this you?
You have an academic education in a relevant field. This may be health sciences or another (bio)medical oriented academic programme. Preferably you have a PhD or several years of experience in (bio)medical related research. You are a real team player and have a flexible and proactive working attitude. You have good analytical and communication skills and you work in a precise and structured way.

What are you going to do
You are responsible for the local set-up, supervision and implementation of the project:
Top clinical burn care: ‘Efficient customised care’.

This project is part of the national Top Specialist Care and Research (TZO) project which was started by the Consortium of Cooperating Burn Centres in the Netherlands (consisting of the burns centres of the Rode Kruis Hospital in Beverwijk, the Maasstad Hospital in Rotterdam and the Martini Hospital in Groningen) with a grant from the ZonMw TZO programme. In the next four years, we want to realize effective customized care for burn wound patients by better connecting knowledge from the practice of care (learning from our patients), scientific research, innovation, education and evaluation. A value-driven care framework is established in which (clinical and patient-reported) outcomes are analyzed, interpreted, used for care innovations, and implemented in clinical burns practice. In addition, three subprojects are carried out, each of which investigates a core issue of burn care with the value-driven care framework to be developed and for which care innovations (choice aids/tools for shared decision making) are developed. You will coordinate and participate in setting up the value driven care framework in Beverwijk. In addition, you will (co-)coordinate the research activities of the three subprojects (research projects) at the burns centre in Beverwijk and assist in their implementation on the work floor. You will supervise the medical researcher (PhD student) on the subproject of the Burns Centre Beverwijk (‘the effect of Tissue Engineered skin constructs’). You will also be involved in the local patient panel and quality team, whose role is to shape, implement and monitor the value driven care framework in burn care, and research and training/education. You will also contribute to data collection and data management at the center. In addition, as a member of the research team and depending on your training, experience and interests, you may also contribute to and think about scientific research conducted at the Burns Centre Beverwijk.

Your new colleagues
Your workplace is located in the Burns Centre of the Red Cross Hospital. You will be part of an enthusiastic and dynamic care and research team, both in the burns centre in Beverwijk and in the consortium. You will work closely with the researchers, care providers, and support departments such as ICT. A project manager and data steward have been appointed for the national project with whom you will work closely. During the TZO project, meetings will also take place in and with the other two burn centres.

As project coordinator/researcher, you will report directly to the research coordinator (Dr A. Pijpe), the medical director of the burns centre (Prof P.P.M. van Zuijlen) and the research director of the Association of Co-operating Burns Centres in the Netherlands (Prof E. Middelkoop). Both professors are also affiliated with the department of plastic surgery at AUMC, location VUmc. The research team of the burns centre consists of about 12 employees who jointly take care of all research in order to improve burns care.

We need you
. We are immediately looking for an enthusiastic project coordinator/researcher with an affinity for care innovation and medical scientific research. Go on:

Do you have several years of experience or a PhD in a relevant field (e.g. medicine, epidemiology, health sciences, biomedical sciences);
You are a real team player and have a flexible and proactive work attitude;
You have good analytical skills;
You work in a precise and structured manner;
You have a good command of the Dutch and English languages, both verbally and in writing;
You are familiar with the applicable laws and regulations for (clinical) scientific research and the FAIR data (management) principles, or are willing to acquire these;
Are you proficient in database systems such as Excel, SPSS, Castor EDC or willing to acquire this;
You are prepared to make a contribution to the practical implementation of projects;
Experience working in healthcare and working with patients and caregivers is an advantage;
