ICEMOHR Special Interest Group

Within the VvE, initiative is highly valued by members. To support initiatives in the context of the VvE’s objectives, the VvE makes small subsidies available. These offer the possibility to set up a so-called Special Interest Group (SIG). We would like to bring the workshop below, organized by the Special Interest Group: Innovative and Contemporary Epidemiological Methodologies in Oral Health Research, to your attention:

WORKSHOP
Causal Inference in Oral Health Research: What can dental research learn from the 2021 Nobel Prize in Economics?
Date: September 21, 2022
Time: 10.00 am – 12.00 pm
Location: Academic Center for Dentistry Amsterdam (ACTA)

The workshop will mainly focus on how to make causal inferences for observational studies using natural experiment. In the workshop, Prof. Stefan Listl, will first provide an overview of econometric methods for causal inference from observational data and showcase recent examples of applications in oral health research. Afterwards, it will be the response to the keynote lecture from two co-referents, Prof. Cor van Loveren from Department of Preventive Dentistry, ACTA, and Dr. Mariƫlle Beenackers from Department of Public Health, Erasmus Medical Center. See this flyer for more information.

The workshop will take place on 21st September (10.00-12.00) at Academic Center for Dentistry Amsterdam (ACTA). It will be hybrid. Participants are required to register online before participation. The link to the registration form is: https://forms.gle/9sFyQK5A2YVBNZLR7 (the link is also provided in the flyer).
