Characteristics teaching programme:
The various master's programs in epidemiology at Utrecht University have evolved since 2004. A master's program (BSc entrance, 120 EC, F2F (full-time)) and a postgraduate program (MSc entrance, 90 EC, both F2F (full-time) and online (part-time)) are now available. Our online program was developed in collaboration with Elevate Health, creating a modern and well-researched online program. Both national and a wide range of international students know how to find our programs. The courses are designed and supported by 4 leading research groups from the medical, pharmaceutical and veterinary fields. These groups provide a very wide range of teachers and internships, and the various groups are represented in the courses we offer.
In addition to the basic courses that each student takes in each program, a total of ± 40 elective courses are offered from which a student- in addition to the few required courses per direction- is free to choose. The affiliated research groups have worked together to create 6 different specialization programs, which, in addition to several required courses, also allow plenty of room for personal choice.
These directions are:
1) Clinical Epidemiology
2) Pharmacoepidemiology
3) Epidemiology of Infectious Diseases.
4) Medical Statistics
5) Occupational and Environmental Epidemiology
6) Veterinary Epidemiology
