Webinar Growth Modeling and Latent Class Growth Analysis in R

Within the VvE, initiative is highly valued by members. To support initiatives in the context of the VvE’s objectives, the VvE makes small subsidies available. These offer the possibility to set up a so-called Special Interest Group (SIG). We would like to bring the webinar below, organized by the Special Interest Group: Growth Modeling, to your attention:

Webinar Growth Modeling and Latent Class Growth Analysis in R
April 21st, 2022
3.00-5.00 PM CET

Growth modeling is a flexible statistical method which can be used to assess changes in disease/health trajectories over time. It can also be used to study determinants of these changes. Furthermore, tools such as Latent Class Growth Analysis (LCGA) provide further possibilities to explore heterogeneity in these trajectories.

In the first part of this webinar, dr. Miriam Haaksma (Senior Researcher at the dept. of Public Health and Primary Care of Leiden University Medical Center) will focus on how to build an individual growth model in R step-by-step, using example syntax and data.

In the second part, biostatistician Jeannie-Marie Leoutsakos (Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Baltimore) elaborates on the principles of LCGA. This is a technique to identify subgroups of people with distinct trajectories, and to identify determinants of subgroup membership. LCGA is also referred to as group-based trajectory modeling. Examples of and syntax for conducting LCGA in R will be presented.

Would you like to learn more on how to implement these methods in R? Subscribe to this webinar!

Note: the webinar will be in English.
