The Call for Applications for ECDC Fellowship Programme Cohort 2026 is now open!

Are you passionate about Field Epidemiology or Public Health Microbiology, and driven to investigate emerging public health threats? Ready to take your expertise to the next level?

The ECDC Fellowship Programme is now accepting applications for Cohort 2026, offering two specialized paths:

📊 EPIET – European Programme for Intervention Epidemiology Training
🔬 EUPHEM – European Public Health Microbiology Training Programme

This two-year, hands-on training equips fellows to tackle real-world challenges in disease prevention, outbreak investigation, surveillance, and public health preparedness across the EU/EEA – and beyond.

Fellows in the EU-track are placed in leading public health institutions across Europe, gaining invaluable experience and building a strong professional network.

Which path is right for you?

EPIET: For public health professionals with experience in epidemiology, aiming to deepen their skills in field epidemiology at national and regional surveillance centres across Europe.

EUPHEM: For microbiologists with backgrounds in medical, veterinary, or environmental microbiology, eager to apply epidemiological methods to microbiological data in disease control, and working in laboratories with public health functions.

📅 Start date: 7 September 2026
🗓️ Application deadline: 30 October 2025, 24:00 CEST
🌍 Eligibility: Open to nationals of EU/EEA countries with relevant experience in public health, epidemiology, or microbiology.
